1. Death toll rises in Nigeria bombings, more than 180 dead

The Nigerian city of Kano was ripped apart by a series of bomb blasts. Bako Haram, an Islamic fundamentalist group, has claimed responsibility.

RBI announced a cut in cash reserve ratios but kept the repo rate unchanged in a recent announcement meant to combat inflation and a falling growth rate.
