By now, you have probably figured out that The Opinion is a magazine for anyone who has a point of view and wants to know what’s going on around them. Instead of boring you with a blow-by-blow of the magazine’s life story, we have put together a short list of questions we are asked most often. Hopefully, this will help you understand what we are all about.
Why are you doing this?
Because it’s a whole lot of fun. It gives us immense joy and satisfaction to bring you a magazine filled with opinion and information from India and the world. The Opinion was conceived out of a realization that our nation’s young men and women have hardly any media instruments that cater to their needs. We wanted to create a publication that speaks your language, talks about pertinent issues and gives your voice a platform.
Over the course of the past two years, we have turned our vision into a reality. The Opinion today is more your magazine than ours. A majority of our content is sourced directly from our readers and we have an ever-expanding and passionate reader base. In the future, we hope to grow into a media enterprise that can, hopefully, contribute to creating an aware and empowered youth – a youth capable of powering India to new heights.
What is your agenda?
To present thought provoking and pertinent ideas in a style that appeals to you and to give you a chance to get your word out to as many other young men and women as possible. That is it. No political inclinations, no over-arching beliefs and no underlying motives.
Who are you?
We are a lot of things. We are fiercely dedicated and horribly lazy. We are occasionally smart and frequently idiotic. We are surprisingly discerning and recklessly brash. We are voracious readers and serial TV watchers. We are honest and uncompromising on our integrity. We are passionate about what we do and take pride in our work. And we try to have a lot of fun.
Basically, we are just like you. And we hope that will help us stay connected with our audience. (In case you were looking for names, you can find that and some contact information at the bottom of this page)
How can I get involved?
Any way you want. Read the magazine, talk about the issues, write about what you find intriguing, share a good read on Facebook, or drop by and we can find something that works for you. We are always looking for bright, sharp minds and would be thrilled to work with you.
Where is all the action?
The founders all met each other in the beautiful city of Bombay but a few of us do work from outside the city as well. The magazine is printed in Bombay and distributed to all parts of the country from there. In case you want to catch a part of the action or just stop by and say ‘Hi’, Bombay is the place to be.
Which way is the rest room?
Down the corridor and the last door on your left. You might want to double-check that, though.
It was nice chatting with you. In case there are any other questions you’d like us to answer or if you feel like chatting some more, drop us a note at the addresses below. Have fun and stay sharp.
